What is a child care resource and referral agency?

Child care resource & referral (CCR&R) Agencies help ensure that families in 99 percent of all populated ZIP codes in the United States have access to high-quality, affordable child care.

To achieve that goal, we lead projects that seek to increase the quality and availability of child care professionals, undertake research, and advocate for child care policies that positively impact the lives of children and families.

Ohio4Kids is a child care resource and referral agency offering free services to clients of all income levels within the 31 counties of Ohio which we serve. Helping parents choose child care and training individuals to open and operate a child care business is our work. We are a program of the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development. Since 1993, we have been the Appalachian region's information hub for child care and education services for children.

naccrra logo Our referral services were the first in Ohio to be nationally recognized as 'Quality Assured' by the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA). This designation, which we’ve held since 2002, is proof that families and providers can trust and depend on the services we provide.

occrra logo We have also been a member of OCCRRA, the Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association, since its inception. OCCRRA was established as a statewide system in 1993 by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to make free child care resource and referral services available to all families, child care professionals, employers and communities.
