Picking the right fundraising product: key questions

There are thousands of products available for fundraisers that range from candy to wrapping paper, cookies to inspirational goods, and nuts to sausage and cheese. Think about the following to help you choose the right fundraising product for your group.

How much money does our group need? Set a goal.

What would we enjoy selling? The more the sellers like the product, the more motivated they will be to sell it.

How fast do we need the money? Pre-sale orders (order taker) take longer. If you need to raise money fast, try using direct-sale products (candy).

Does the price point match the income level of the community? Offering a fairly priced good at a price that’s affordable will lead to success.

Are there any hidden costs? Shipping, prizes, etc.?

Above all else, the most important thing to remember when you are selecting a fundraiser is to do your research. Make sure the company you are working with is credible and not a scam.
