Travelling with an infant or toddler
During holidays and vacations, many of us plan family get-togethers. Most of these gatherings will require some travel and changes to our daily routine. This can be stressful for infants and toddlers. Here are some simple steps to help alleviate the stress:
- Limit the changes in the infant/toddler’s routine. Try to keep the schedule as normal as possible.
- Be prepared and plan ahead. Make a list of all items for routine care or play that your child uses daily, to ensure that you’ve packed all that you will need.
- Have activities planned for the car ride such as singing songs and playing games.
- When flying with a baby, try to coordinate feeding times with take off and landing schedules. Frequent swallowing will help prevent painful pressure buildup in the ears.
